Harish believes that “Volunteering is not a choice, it is a responsibility”. He nationally coordinates Bhumi’s Nakshatra talent development program, a platform for thousands of lesser privileged children to exhibit their talent. As a project lead, he has organized and helped with various programs like art and literary events, mentoring city level coordinators and fundraising events such as India Run and Bhoomi Sports League.
Because of his support in these programs, over 6,000 kids from about 200 orphanages participated in Nakshatra 2018-19. Along with his team, he has also organized a year long outreach program where children are trained to perform in the annual fest.
The other program that Harish is part of at Bhoomi is Catalyse. He follows the saying, “We Do Not Inherit the Earth from Our Ancestors; We Borrow It from Our Children.” He believes that only with structured orientation programmes and awareness events, is it possible to inspire youngsters. He has acted as the first programme coordinator for the civic initiatives programme and has engaged about 600 volunteers through various activities.
