Vivek Gurav is the founder of Pune ploggers-a community ploggers in Pune which is involved in jogging and picking up plastic and trash on the way. They have collected more than 35,000 kilos of plastic and other waste and sent it to recycling process. The waste thrown in untreated water poses a risk to their health so they use safety masks and gloves. The initiative is now spread to 3 cities with more than 500 ploggers being involved in it.
According to Vivek he volunteers because “Volunteering adds a sense of responsibility in my daily actions. It is something that helps us realize the true potential of our being as a human. Every moment spent in volunteering to give back to the society triggers positivity. Do it - It feels good.”
